It’s a phrase we so often hear. We’re always told to stop and look at the world through the eyes of others whether they be above or below us, or equal. This phrase is so easy to say, and there is an easy way to do it, however to truly comprehend what is meant for you to comprehend when doing what this phrase asks you to do, you should experience a sensation like no other.
It’s as simple as taking a car ride down Monroe Rd. to Charlotte and looking at the same building as you near the city and looking at it as you do, and then as someone who might live in the area. Look at a depressed building around East Meck High School for example. When I look it I see a old, rundown, dilapidated home or business. However when looking at that same building from the eyes of someone who may live or work there and truly trying to comprehend what they see, your mind will contradict itself and it’s almost as if your brain will try so hard to understand it collapses. This very same building to someone else could be a building of pride of and a symbol of achievement. It could be beautiful in the eye’s of one, and discussing in the eyes of another.
It is the very fact that all humans are not the same that makes this world turn. However it is the very fact that no one can understand one another that makes the world stand still. One day when your traveling through an area that is opposite of your own, take a moment and truly work your brain to try and fully comprehend what the people who live there might see. You’ll find that the entire world will look different through the eyes of someone else.
